We're first going to show you how we do that and then we'll go over some features of the rack itself. Here at the back, we press down on our black button, we're going to release our ratcheting straps. That's just going to hold that back tire in place, in our wheel cradle. Up at the front, we have a locking cover. If we undo that, you'll see our anti-theft and anti-tampering device. We're just going to flip that over and fold that out of the way. Thule Big Mouth Roof Bike Rack Review - 2016 Jeep Compass- Video

Today on our 2016 Jeep Compass, we are doing a test fit of the Thule Big Mouth Mounted Bike rack. Part number TH599XTR. You see that we have a bike on our rack, let's show you a few features now. How the bike is held up, we have here what we call a frame clamp, with the lever here pulling down that will unloosen the clamp, but pulling up will close it. We also have two straps with two bushes on the front and the back wheel. So first, I'd like to loosen those up first by pulling up on the grey lever, pushing down, and taking it out. Same thing on the back, pull up on your grey lever, push down, push out. more

Today in our 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee, we are doing a test fit of the Rhino Rack Mounting Trail Roof top bike carrier, that part number is RBC035. Now we already have a bike on our rack, I just want to show you a few things here. This is a fork mounted bike rack, you see we have a forks here with our skewer engaged, we come to the back we have our wheel cradle, just our wheel sitting in it, with our one single strap. We will remove this first, set it out of the way. Then we come up here, disengaged the skewer by pulling back here, loosening it a little bit, then we take the bike off our rack, set this to the side. Its always a good idea if you have straps on your bike rack, please go ahead and replace them so they don't get damaged or lost. Now to show you how this is all hooked up, we have our lid here, take this off. It has a key for you, anti theft. more

Inno Roof Bike Racks Review - 2015 Jeep Patriot- Video

Today on our 2015 Jeep Patriot, we're doing a test fit of the Inno Fork lock roof mounted bike rack, part number INXA391. Now, the first thing we're going to do is show you how we strap our bike down. Back here in the back we've got a standard wheel strap, that's just going to secure that back wheel to the bike rack. The nice thing about this is that it does have, back here we've got a channel for the smaller tires like we have here but you can also fit tires on there as well. To release that we just pull down and lift up on the strap and whenever we load it up we want to make sure the strap is between the spokes. Then we can come up to the front, we've got a locking cover to prevent theft. Take that off and we've got a skewer here we just pull on the black handle, and we can loosen and tighten with the black knob on this side to secure our fork mounts in place. So just take our bike off and set it off to the side; it's always a good habit to reconnect your straps so you don't lose any. more

Next you'll take your first of two u-shaped bolts with your protective rubber coating underneath, go underneath the crossbar, and up through the holes to where it meets up here. You will then take your nuts. more

Rhino Rack MountainTrail Roof Bike Racks Review - 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee- Video

Today on our 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee, we're going to be doing a test fit of the Rhino Rack Mountain Trail Rooftop Mountain Bike Rack, part number RBC035. First thing we are going to do is set it up on top of the vehicle and slide the straps underneath of our crossbar like so and before we start strapping that one down we're going to slide one bolt and one wing nut on the one side of our rear crossbar, as you can see the other side is going to have the bolt with the plate in place and a wing nut. Let's go ahead and tighten down the front one. First thing we're going to need to do is remove the cover like so and then we're going to grab our allen tool, slide the straps in and then we'll tighten that up and you can see that plate is going to pull it back as we screw this in tightening up the straps underneath. All right once we have that tight and secure, we're going to place that cover back over the top like so and click it into place and that does lock and secure as well. Next we'll move to the backside, remove the wing nut on the one with just the bolt, place the bracket with the hole on it over the top of the bolt and then we'll start threading it back on. All right once we have it started, we'll go ahead and thread that one up. Now we'll just get it up to right where it is underneath of the rear crossbar and then we're going to center it and then thread them both up evenly. more

As you can see we've already got our bike on it as well, so you can see what it's going to look like once you have it fully assembled and your bike in place. Let's start off by going in reverse order of how we would put it on and take the bike off. On the back side here, you're going to have you protective rubber coating with that protective strap that's going to go around that rear wheel. Now we have our Rhino Rack roof rack system installed on the factory side rails of our Jeep. We'll begin our test fit simply by just placing the rack up onto the roof rack. First we need to take this rubber-coated steel strap to go around the underside of the bar and then we'll hook this strap in this slot here like so. Today in the studio we have a 2013 Jeep Patriot. We'll be doing a quick test fit on the Rhino Rack Mountain Trail roof-mounted bike rack, part number RBC035. Now we have a Rhino Rack roof rack system installed on the factory side rails of our Jeep. We'll begin our test fit by just placing the rack up onto the crossbars. First thing you need to do is remove this locking cover here at the front, which will expose these slots. We'll position the rubber-coated steel straps around the underside of the bar here and then hook them back into the slot. more

Swagman Fork Down Roof Bike Racks Review - 2015 Jeep Patriot- Video

Today on our 2015 Jeep Patriot, were going to be doing a test fit on the Swagman Fork Down. This is a roof mounted fork clamp style bike rack, part number of it is S64710. To begin the test fit, we're going to place the rack right up onto the roof rack of our vehicle. We've already installed the Rhino Rack Vortex Aero Roof Rack system, so we're just going to center the head of the carrier here on our front load bar. We'll bring the metal U bolt around the underside, fit it up through the head and then we'll secure it in place with the two wing nuts. We'll take our second U bolt, we're going to do the same thing, bring it around the underside, fit it up through and thread our wing nuts on. As you can see, I'm just threading these on loosely for now. I don't want to get them too tight in case I need to adjust the rack or something. more

Thule Sprint Roof Bike Racks Review - 2015 Jeep Patriot- Video

Today on our Jeep Patriot 2015, we're going to do a test fit on the Thule Sprint. This is the roof mounted fork clamp style bike rack. Part number on it is TH528. Now, we've already got our Thule Rapids Crossroads roof rack system installed in the Patriot. To begin our test fit, we'll simply just place our roof rack, our bike rack rather up on the roof rack. As you can see, we'll position front pad or front foot directly over the top of our front bar and we will slide our rear one back or forward just depending on where it's positioned when you get it, to be resting squarely on top of our rear bar and then bring your black rubber coated metal strap around, fit it into the small indention on the front there. more

Thule Roof Bike Racks Review - 2015 Jeep Patriot- Video

Today on our 2015 Jeep Patriot, were going to be doing a test fit of the Thule Paceline. This is a roof mounted skewer style or fork clamp style bike rack. Part number on it is TH527. Weve already got our Thule Rapid Crossroads Roof Rack System installed in the vehicle, so well begin our test fit by just placing the rack up here onto the crossbars. Well lift the gray and black lever on the front. Well also lift the small black lever here on the rear. more

Today on our 2015 Jeep Patriot, were going to be doing a test fit on the Swagman Upright. This is a roof mounted frame clamp style bike rack. Part number on it is S64720. To begin our test fit, well place the bike rack right up on to our roof rack system. Now today weve got the Rhino-Rack Vortex Aero System that weve installed in the vehicle. Were going to take just a quick look to make sure weve got it centered and running that weve got the base running across the center of our crossbar. more

Today on our 2015 Jeep Patriot we're going to do a test fit on the Rocky Mounts Tierod. This is a roof mounted fork clamp style bike rack. Part number on is RKY1014. We're going to remove the black plastic cover. This will give us the room we need to remove the two rubber coated metal straps from their small slots on the front. more

Today on our 2015 Jeep Patriot we're going to be doing a test fit on the Rhino Rack Mountain Trail. This is a roof-mounted fork clamp-style bike rack. Part number on it is RBC035. Now to begin our test fit you'll see we've got the two black rubber-coated metal straps apart from the head of our carrier. We're going to bring these around the underside of our load bar. Once we've got that down and around we'll remove the black cover that's located here on the top. With that out of the way we'll bring our straps around and fit them right into the indentions or the slots that are here in the head of the carrier. more
